Renault-Nissan alliance to provide Orange with 200 electric vehicles

ABR Staff Writer Published 04 September 2014

Sustainable mobility provider Renault-Nissan Alliance will supply fleet of 200 electric vehicles to telecom operator Orange as a part of an agreement signed between the companies.

Orange plans to use the vehicles for car-sharing purpose between its buildings in France. The vehicles will mostly consist of the Renault Kangoo Z.E. van, ZOE subcompact, Nissan LEAF and Nissan e-NV200 van.

The employees of Orange will be able to book the car via Orange Auto Partage application for official and personal use.

As a part of the partnership the Renault-Nissan alliance will also help Orange with installation of charging stations at the proposed site.

Orange Facilities & Mobility Management director Hélène Billon said: "We believe that the use of electric vehicles needs to be encouraged both professionally and privately."

"Therefore, this agreement with the Renault-Nissan Alliance contributes to helping us meet our commitment to a 20 percent reduction in our CO2 footprint by 2020."

"By that time, we hope to continue the acquisition of more than 1,000 electric vehicles, notably to account for about one-third of our car-sharing fleet in France."
